STRATEGI PEMBERDAYAAN INDUSTRI PERTAHANAN DALAM PEMENUHAN ALUTSISTA TNI AD YANG DILAKSANAKAN DI PT PINDAD

Abstract

The defense industry has a strategic role in supporting the independence and resilience of the country through the provision of defense equipment. The fulfillment of defense equipment for the Indonesian Army is a comprehensive effort that covers various aspects, from the development of domestic defense industry capabilities to the modernization and maintenance of sustainable defense equipment. This study explores the strategy of empowering the national defense industry in meeting the needs of the main weapons system (alutsista) of the Indonesian Army (TNI AD) with a case study at PT Pindad. The fulfillment of defense equipment is a strategic step that includes strengthening the capabilities of the domestic defense industry, modernization, and sustainable maintenance. The study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results show that PT Pindad faces challenges such as dependence on imported raw materials and limited human resources. To overcome these obstacles, PT Pindad implements a collaborative strategy with various domestic and international parties, utilizes technology transfer, and adapts to government policies. This study   highlights  the strategic role of the government in supporting the development of the defense industry through integrative policies. A strategy that integrates planning, organizing, directing, and controlling is needed to increase the capacity of PT Pindad. Recommendations include increasing innovation, international collaboration, and strengthening government policies to support defense equipment independence and strengthen global competitiveness.
